WEEK 4

Day 16 (05/12/2022, Monday)

There were two real feedback we got. One was that there was a lack of instructions and the other was that there was a lack of feedback from in-game actions. The first issue needed voice lines to be more informative rather than just flavor and there needed to be an instructions menu for people to refer to. The latter issue needed more things like unique VFX and SFX. After a talk with Martin, we switched our focus a little and tried to get better communication with the player.

Oskar took the responsibility of VFX like smoke sparks and bullet trial. I started focusing on SFX and voice lines. We had some funny sounds temporarily for debug and I had to switched them out for more realistic ones. I worked on other smaller things in-between but mainly took over sounds as my responsibility, while Linus took up UI as his focus.

Day 17 (06/12/2022, Tuesday)

Started the day with tweaking the numbers for the for the guns and abilities, attempting to do an initial balancing so the game feels kind of easy for a new player. Then worked on finding more free sound effects and to use for the game. Oskar had finished the explosion effects which was nice and looked cool.

Day 18 (07/12/2022, Wednesday)

I started added some voice lines to introduce the player to the game and continued work on the SFX. Found some cool ones that I had to tweak to sound a bit better, so I learnt the basics of audition to edit and tweak the gun audio. I implemented the sound with the help of Anton. I decided to get some feedback on my voice line writing and changed a lot of it to match the humor of the game.

Day 19 (08/12/2022, Thursday)

Linus was back after being sick yesterday and so we took a deeper look into the voice lines. We needed some funny voice lines about chess (cause why not?) and Linus is known to be diagnosed with a mild case of chess addiction. We got most of the voice lines ready and were up to finally record it. André surprised us with his amazing voice acting skills and we got to record all the voice lines we had. We also added a sound effect to it to make it sound like it was coming out of a radio which sounded cool.

Day 20 (09/12/2022, Friday)

Recording the voice lines was fun but I failed to realize that there needed to be a person to cut, organize and implement all of these voice lines in-engine. Me. I had to do that. So I spent the entire day listening to André's voice and still couldn't get all of the voice lines done or implemented. And this was only the first voice set of voice lines we recorded. I have voices in my head and they are all André. Aside from that this week focused on player experience and getting it more friendly and inviting to play.
